Meet the Kerysso Press leadership team

Carissa Lovvorn, Vice President, Marketing

A devoted wife, mother, speaker, and writer, Carissa is a proud member of the Christian Indie Publishing Association, the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association, and Word Weavers International. Mrs. Lovvorn authors a bi-weekly inspirational column, Carissa’s Corner, in the Athens Now Newspaper and writes for various women’s ministries. 

Carissa's Christian picture book series, The Sharing Sisters, provided her the opportunity to share with many young people and their families simple biblical truths. She lives with her husband and children in North Alabama.

Carissa has a Bachelors in Psychology and Masters in Public Administration with a focus on Nonprofit Management. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Kerysso Press with her passion for ministry and the love of God.


Lisa Worthey Smith, president

Lisa realized the need for a publishing house not focused so much on making sales as reaching readers with the gospel. She created Kerysso Press with the sole goal of publishing books with strong Christian themes at a minimal cost to the author. Her multiple award-winning books include memoirs, biblical fiction, Christian fiction, and the popular COFFEE with God devotionals. 

She's involved with several Christian writing and leadership organizations and is certified to lead Bible studies with Precept International. Lisa holds a Bachelors in Business Administration and is an AWSA certified Christian Writing/Speaking coach.

She and her husband are empty-nesting in North Alabama where she writes/edits/coaches with a cup of Earl Grey beside her, and spends time in her hummingbird garden.

Kerysso Press

Kerysso Press is a print on demand publishing house whose goal is to encourage, edify, and educate. Based on the Greek word κηρύσσω, “kerysso” means to herald, especially a divine truth. This word was used of the public proclamation of the gospel and matters pertaining to it, made by John the Baptist, by Jesus, by the apostles and other Christian teachers.
